30% Engineered Cost Reduction

An Aberdeen based drilling services specialise in the design and supply of innovative drilling products to the world’s leading oilfield service and drilling companies.

Juice Engineering were approached in 2023 with a challenge to reduce the cost of manufacturing sleeves for a revolutionary new product. Working in close collaboration with the clients Supply Chain and Engineering teams, Juice were able to complete a design for manufacture assessment. With the aid of a 3d printed model, the correct jigs and fixtures were produced which enabled the final sleeves to be machined from an investment cast 17-4 Stainless Steel blank which significantly reduced material waste and overall time to complete. In total the final product cost was estimated to be just 1/3rd of the cost utilising more traditional manufacturing techniques.

The client has since gone on to utilise Juice Engineering as a manufacturing partner for several hundred sleeves and are looking to expand the product size range in the near-future. Today we continue to work together to solve their manufacturing and supply chain challenges.
